Christmas@#$%& II
James Michael Taylor
CHRISTMAS@#$%& II
Snow flakes splashing on my windshield
My old heater hums a tune
And I can hardly see the road
and I’m wishing it was June.
Now, I ain’t no atheist
and I ain’t no Hebrew
And I ain’t one to hold my tongue
when the thots come rushing thru.
I’m talkin’ ‘bout Christmas
Now, I know it might sound radical
and it goes against the grain
but when I sang my Christmas song
They kicked me off the train
T he lies we tell our children
about Santa and the lord
All this talk about peace and love
while we’re marching off to war…
The ribbons and the wrapping
The phony soap-flake snow
The sheep would freeze out in the fields
this time of year, you know.
They say it’s supposed to warm my heart
and make my spirits glow
but I suspect it’s just to make me
want to spend my dough
I’m talkin’ ‘bout Christmas.
I’m tired of talkin’ ’bout Christmas.
