THE POWER OF GOOD-BYE 2007 - DON'T
James Michael Taylor
THE POWER OF GOOD-BYE
I guess I’ve always been a sissy
I smash my finger and I cry
And when you say that you don’t miss me
I wonder at The power of Good-bye
I know a man should never crumble
The faith he claims, it will deny
Don’t let his children see the tear drops that fall
As I wonder at The Power of Good-bye
I tremble at The Power of Good-bye
Don’t let them see me here, troubled and torn
Tossed like an Autumn leaf, caught in the storm
Swept off my feet like a flood without warning
And don’t let them know I can’t fend for myself
But it’s been a co-operative effort til now
She’s always been there ’til now
I won’t deny that I’m a coward,
When I’m too hurt to even try
And, when I think of all the lonely, people
I wonder at The Power of Good-bye
I’m staggered at The Power of Good-bye
I stagger neath the Tower of Good-bye
