#RPM Challenge 2014# First Song of the Challenge . . . Here We Go!

Originally by Freddie King, I did the John Mayall (Eric Clapton) version since the March 2014 issue of Guitar World mag has a good transcription of it. Looking back now I wish my lead tone wouldn't have been quite so harsh in places.

Just an instrumental I came up with on the 7-string. Wanted to try a few harmonized licks. Guitars and bass are me but the drums aren't (as with all my stuff).

I did this as a way to practice singing....why I am trying to learn to sing at 64 is a little strange.... I wish I had leaned to sing when I was starting out..but I always played in band with lots of singers and never had to sing much…

Recently picked up an old Ovation 12 string for cheap and also the newer Boss octave pedal, so I had to do something with the new toys

Some time ago whilst YouTubing, I stumbled across several videos of old seafaring songs or sea "shanties". Unbelievably, that triggered some very ancient RAM of elementary school music classes wherein we were taught several of these songs. And…
