Medicine Moon

As the quiet burns on the midnight oil
And my footsteps making cracks in the floor
For the monsters lurking under my bead
For the tinnitus ringing in my head
It’s the pill in hands that I hold
To Kill the tremors and bury the cold
Carry the weight, stack it on your shoulders
This is the way that my hair turned grey
Winter reminds us we’ve all grown older
Under medicine moons
Take your medicine moon
Come and tie me down cause it’s getting late
Place another stone, I’ll ask for more weight
From the widow’s peak I can see it all
In a prayer for peace carved into the wall
