Of late I’ve been going through a fascination with cassette tape. Really it started in 2019 when I released a Bandcamp release of mine on a physical cassette tape which is available at the link below. That said I’ve been inspired by Randall Taylor who performs under the moniker Amulets. So this week I started tearing up old cassettes to make endless loops. I made 3 in various degrees of success. This piece began with recording violin on one of the tapes which was already degrading from my disassembly/splicing. I then fed the recording into Pure Data and captured to two loop tables then mixing live which included much manipulation in pitch, twists in PD. Created for Sound-In Phase 2 event.

this has some interesting turns going on and looping too.-- so this was a physical thing with tapes. -- great. lots of work here /// I might make things like this with my tape collection after I have them digitized I guess--
