A record that started it for all in a rebirth of my musicality in the early 80’s was Breakfast In The Field by Michael Hedges whose life was cut short in 1997 in his mid-40’s. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him in some way. I hadn’t listened to that record in some time but returned to it this week. The first piece I ever heard off it was The Happy Couple and though I heard Michael live several times I never got to hear that piece live, he had moved on from it I think but it’s among others been powerful to me. This improv has influence of that as well as this record. Playing baritone ukulele here.
