We were immortal, you and I
Alongside my sea, beneath your sky
No need to fear tomorrow
Now I see our time was borrowed

I’ll sit here rhyming by your side
And play till we see a lower tide
Lay out the course we’ll travel
And laugh when it comes unraveled

Someday, we’ll both surrender

Your present and past are one and the same

Time will tell what will be, but we won’t count the sand
