Leftiness

There’s really nothing special about this… I didn’t even mean to write it.

I was looking for a (free) way to make music that’s more… expressive. Rosegarden doesn’t have enough in the way of dynamics. I tried a bunch, and I ended up with LMMS.

Like I said, it was an accident. I was making random notes with LMMS, and I pushed what I had set as the hotkey for play in Rosegarden… A note came up on the piece.

To sum it up, it’s a lot easier to be expressive with a keyboard, even though it’s QWERTY and not MIDI, and I don’t have to worry about counting out rests, or anything, anymore.

… And LMMS lets me control the volume (and more) on a note-by-note basis.

… I’ll probably get a MIDI keyboard, if it isn’t too expensive…
