Maknongan Remix_10_4
For the upcoming Mobtown Modern show “Low Art” next Wednesday, Brian Sacawa will perform (among other pieces in the jumbo saxophone repertoire) “Maknongan” by Giacinto Scelsi (performed on bari sax). For the event, Brian asked me to create a remix of his recorded licks from the Scelsi piece- to elide with his last note in its performance, and serve as a bridge into the next piece on the program, “We Speak Etruscan” by Lee Hyla. In this remix I combined different launch modes of clips from the Scelsi, in combination with Tuvan Khoomei throat singing and didjeridou. In performance- clips triggered in Ableton Live 8 with foot controller board, while adding other things with the turntables and Kaoss Pad.
