This is a John Prine song.

And it’s another cover that means a lot to me. John’s songs have a melodic and lyrical beauty that is inimitable. This one, in particular, hit close to home after covid took him from us. I know it’s silly, but it feels like John is telling us it’s all going to be okay.

And I guess it is.

Anyway, I was unhappy with the first upload and re-recorded it all this morning. The drums are still out of time, the vocals out of tune, the piano clumsy, and the guitars … sad. But it’s the thought that counts, and with John’s lyrics, literally.
