The songs for this album were written between May and June 1997. I had just ended a 2 1/2 year relationship. I was unemployed, 25 years old and living in a share house. And I was listening to a lot of Leonard Cohen. I has written many albums before, but they all sucked compared to this. “Songs guaranteed to clear the dancefloor” was my first “good” album.
