The shows supporting Colonel Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit are still among my fondest.
In the late Summer of 1990, a powerful force originating from the Cosmic Center of the Universe, also known as Murfreesboro Tennessee, brought together three young yankees from the northeastern United States and a young man that traveled the world and ended up in nearby McMinnville. Bonded my the soil on which they met, Mud Brothers formed and quickly became part of the music scene fabric of the small college town. From common influences dating back to the mid-to-late 1960’s to the individual influences in R&B, pop, reggae, and metal, Mud Brothers began by performing original compositions and the music of the Grateful Dead. The latter was delivered with an unprecedented fury. From these roots Mud Brothers ignited a Mid-South musical Renaissance.
