JUMPSUIT BLUES
As I slept this morning,
I dreamed of what you said
How you said you loved me,
And from my toes to head
Then I woke to Chow Call,
Prison walls around my bed
‘Morning to you, Jesus!
How did you sleep last night?
Did you dream, Dear Jesus,
And did you sleep alright?
Well, I tossed and turned, now,
’Cause my jumpsuit was too tight
If the Blues was reefer,
I’d smoke them all away
If I had a lighter,
I’d toke them all today
Then I’d just be locked down
’Til my hairs had all turned grey
