There was a report recently from Credit Suisse that nearly half the world’s wealth is in the hands of 1% of the population, and the wealth shared by the poorest 3.5bn is about the same as that shared by the richest 85 people. And it also said that the trend is for those super rich to get richer over time - why wouldn’t they? They can buy political influence and safeguard their fortunes.
