Heart Of A Servant
Paul Lisney
This is about trying to follow Our Lord and that to be an authentic Christian one will often one’s self going against the ways of the world.
Heart Of A Servant
No one wants to be a servant
Everyone wants to be in charge
No one wants to be obedient
Leaders race on a crowded path
Everybody seeks the spotlight
No one strives for humility
Even good deeds have no merit
When they’re done for all to see
I want the heart of a servant
Take away my prideful thoughts
Open my eyes so I can walk the path
Christ paved to heaven for us all
Where are those who want to follow?
Where are those who long to serve?
Don’t they know that all great leaders
Are servants of Our Lord
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
Blessed are those who mourn,
Blessed are the meek and humble
Blessed are the merciful
I want the heart of a servant
Take away my selfish thoughts
Open my eyes so I can walk the path
Paved for us by Christ Our Lord
The Last will be first
When the Kingdom comes
And the humble shall be raised
And the proud sent away
Where are all the real men hiding?
Where are men who long to serve?
Where are the men who hear the small voice
And spurn the ways of the world?
Can you hear this call to manhood?
Is a chord struck in your heart?
Your King is calling you to
Leave the race and walk His path
