Inspired by "Murder Mystery" by The Velvet Underground, with lyrics adapted from posts on Craigslist's endlessly fascinating "Missed Connections" section. I wanted to put positive posts in one speaker and negative in the other.

One of the keyboard sounds here is actually a heavily manipulated recording of me dialing my cellphone. I also had some fun with strange mouth noises ala my side project AwESOME MOVIE SOUND NOISES!!!.

I started out with the sounds you hear in the beginning, and knew I wanted to make them the basis of something spacy.

I sort of wanted to call a band Department Of Meteors, but it became a song title instead.

Sometimes I pretend that my songs are themes for non-existent horror b-movies.

Completed on Super Bowl Sunday, and the title is an extremely dorky joke about that. I've discovered electric razors are a fun way to produce industrial effects.

I really was thinking about small, bashful fish when I wrote this, and you can sort of tell.

Probably my personal favorite track on the EP - there's sort of a dub-ish flavor to it. The main rhythm loop was made on Ableton, then subsequently chopped up a bit on ACID because I still find that easier to work with.

Watchout4snakes has a "sentence generator" that I find a fascinating source of nonsense - for these "lyrics" I just refreshed it several times, then organized the sentences into questions and answers.

I sort of see this song issuing from one of those haunted video games they write creepypastas about.
