Vexatious Phlegm is the primary performing moniker of Zeke Korma. Initially known for fronting the indie rock group Shackbuilders from 1986 to 1991, Korma’s more recent work is typified by hypnotic repetition and personal, stream of conscious lyrics. His previous album, No Really I Would Like It Back, consisted of two 20 minute pieces - the title track was about his infamous feud with the group Work Free Drug Zone, which started when WFDZ guitarist Scott Claymore borrowed a guitar cable from Korma at a festival performance and it was mistakenly packed up with their gear at the end of the set; the other piece, “Your Loss, My Gain”, was about laundry, a topic also broached in “The Last Days of Reckoning”.
