In Your Image Again

Verse 1:
You gave us mouths to sing your praise,
But we spit curses, speak in hate.
You gave us bones to dance in joy,
But we raise them now in rage.
You made our hearts to keep love warm,
But we turned cold and shut the door—
Building walls where bridges stood,
Calling war our holy good.

Chorus:
We come before you, clothed in shame,
Dragging our sins, too proud to name.
Empty the pride that blinds our eyes,
Lift this burden, hear our cries.

Empty the darkness from within—
Let Jesus’ light shine deep again.
Restore your image, soul and skin,
We long to be like you again.

Verse 2:
You shaped us in your likeness true,
But carved ourselves a god or two.
We trade the living for the dead,
Worship stone and bow our heads.
You gave us light to guide the way,
But we chose glittered shades of grey.
Now we burn in fires we lit,
Calling pitch-black flames a gift. Chorus

Verse 3:
We camp in darkness, claim it bright,
Dance in shadows, shun your light.
We break the world with our own hands,
Then curse your name for where we stand.
Still, Your mercy floods our shame—
You whisper love, You call our name.
Transform our hearts, redeem Your plan:
To make us children once again. Chorus
