All There Is (2024 Version)
Robert James
Quarantine Tunes Volume Seven lives again! A year and a half after I finished the first two songs for the project, we finally have a third song! This one was written and originally recorded as part of the 2021 RPM Challenge (titled Guilt Machine).
I don’t know if this version is better or worse, but there sure is a whole lot more reverb and echo on everything. It’s got that going for it at least, right?
All of the guitar tracks are my Gibson Les Paul Custom complete with shiny new frets and all of the amps are a Fender Bassbreaker 15 and a Vox MV50 Clean, both of which were direct outputs using built in cabinet simulation. The pedals on the rhythm tracks are a Real McCoy Custom RMC10 into a Klon KTR into an Analog Man King of Tone. There are three different chains for leads. The first is a Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian into the Klon KTR into a Seymour Duncan Vapor Trails. The second is the same thing without the Vapor Trails and the third is an MXR Phase 95 into the KTR into the Vapor Trails.
Verse 1
I tend to think about the way it feels
I tend to focus on the pain
If it can help me make it through the day
I guess that means that it’s okay
Verse 2
I take these pictures so I won’t forget
The things that go on day to day
If it annoys you I apologize
But I still do it anyway
Chorus
I want to tell you something
But I come up with nothing
What ever keeps this running
That’s all there is
