Gold Brook Bridge

This one started out life as a guitar/drums groove that I worked on for the National Solo Album Month back in November. It’s not the reason I decided to break my RPM Challenge Must Be Written in February rule, but it could have been. The lyrics are about a haunted bridge in Vermont. Something tells me I may have written a song about this ghost story once before. The guitars are a Gibson SG through a Fender Deluxe Reverb.

Gold Brook Below
No other way to go
One last fall will put an end to it all
So very long ago

Listen to the sounds
Coming from all around
Footsteps on the roof
crying out as proof.

Emily haunts them
Always and forever

In that covered bridge
Don’t go through again
scratches in the cars
better give you pause
