Guilt Machine
Robert James
The fifth song started for the RPM Challenge is the fourth finished, and it’s the title song for the album (assuming I don’t change my mind in the next five days).
Lyrically this is a write what you know kind of song. The Guilt Machine in question is me during Covid. The last month has been rough. Very rough.
Musically there isn’t much going on. The verses and the bridges are the song thing with just a different guitar part. The chorus is decent. I sort of like this one.
Unusual for me these days, I used the same gear for both the lead and the rhythm guitar parts. It’s a Gibson ES-335 into a Dunlop Crybaby (only on the leads) into a Ryra The Klone into a Malaise Forever Black Lives Matter into both a Vox AC15 and a Fender Bassbreaker 15.
Helpless victim of my own guilt
Verse 2
no solution all problems
Chorus
guilt machine
no escaping
cut me clean
self degrading
lock me down
tie my hands tight
make no sound
I will not fight
Verse 3
Self inflicted broken hearted
Chorus
