Mrs Woodman
Robert James
My ears are turning to mush tonight. I’m not sure if this sounds okay or not. It’s another ghost story song. This time about a house where the ghost of a previous resident made friends with the new kid in the house. I struggled with a lot of this and I’m not sure why. It’s pretty simple, isn’t it? The guitars are a Gibson SG into a Fender Deluxe Reverb. This is noteworthy at it is the first time I ever used the amp’s tremolo in a recording.
lyrics
It’s her place
her family’s
you can stay there
you won’t have to leave
Missus Woodman
she’s okay with you
see her floating there
never disbelieve
Little Julie had a new friend
and she could walk on air
telling stories of the old days
while she’s just floating there
Mommy won’t believe
Daddy can’t conceive
Seeing is believing and she’s
okay with the whole affair
Mrs Woodman lives in our house
And she always will
Families come and go through the years
and she is always here
floating in the air
never has a care
Mrs Woodman lives in our house
and we don’t have to fear
She’s floating
In mid air
her feet never
touch the ground
She’s floating
In mid air
her feet never
touch down
