Quite a Steal
Robert James
November is National Solo Album Month and the internet recording challenge that desperately needs a new acronym is just about to end. I started. Gave up. Got back into it. Gave up again. Got back into it again. Now here we are about 27 hours from the finish line and I’m scrambling to mix the last seven songs.
This one was actually ready to mix about two weeks ago but it is so blah and uninspiring that it just sat around unfinished the whole time. It’s not that it’s terrible, it’s just that it’s not that good. I tried to do funky things with the 6/8 time and it didn’t really work out. Better luck next time.
The guitars are all Gibson Les Paul Standard 50’s into a Vox MV50 Clean. The pedals on the rhythm tracks are a Joyo Vintage Phase into a Ryra The Klone into a Chicago Stompworks Mister Vermin. The leads are a crybaby wah into the Ryra into the Vermin into a Washburn AX9.
verse 1
It probably seemed like a deal
its quite a steal
If you only knew how it feels to give in
Verse 2
You probably know what it means
it means to me
you’re probably living the dream for a while
Chorus
give a little bit
you know what i mean
give a little bit
its not how it seems
Bridge
keep looking behind
keep moving along
you’re not gonna find
what you’re looking for
