Rosey

Are the sound effect things getting old yet? I can’t decide. This one came from here:

This time I trimmed it to the appropriate length and then played it backward. Aint I a stinker?
This was the forth song started and it’s the seventh finished.
The lyrics are actually about something. I’m going to turn 50 in a couple of months and it’s just as depressing as you’d expect it to be. I actually wrote the second verse first but it needed some setup. The first verse is looking back at youth and thinking everything was perfect then. The second verse is reality… no, things were pretty shitty back then too.
The heavier lead guitars in the first half of the song (before the trippy ending) are possibly the best tone I’ve every come up with using a clone of a Big Muff Pi fuzz box. It was a magical stars aligning thing because I haven’t been able to get a sound that cool since.
The guitars are all my Gibson ES-335 Pro through both a Fender Bassbreaker 15 and a Voc AC15. For pedals, all of the tracks used a Ryra The Klone overdrive pedal, and the leads used a Wren and Cuff Super Russian as well.
Verse 1
that’s when we were young and stupid
that’s when we could do it all
that’s when we were mostly lucid
those were the days
Chorus
life in motion
such devotion
truth is spoken
clock is ticking faster now
Verse 2
looking back it seems so perfect
memory subject to defect
Could it be that it’s all suspect
never that way
Chorus
