Time Will Tell
Robert James
2022 RPM Challenge song number 10.
I currently have 10 songs finished and the running time for those 10 songs is 36:22. I could call it complete now and feel good about myself. I still have 10 more songs to mix though, and this one is heading for the dropped songs list with a bullet.
This is one of the most gimmicky gimmicks I’ve ever gimmicked. The rhythm guitar is backwards on every other bar. It’s simultaneously the dumbest thing I’ve ever done and the most Epically Prog Rock Masterpiece thing I’ve ever done. I wanted to re-do the guitar tracks so that I wasn’t clipping the start of the first beat of every bar the way I did, but the song just wasn’t good enough to put the extra effort into.
It won’t make the final RPM Challenge album, but it will be a groovy standout on the leftovers album I throw together when the real album is done.
The guitars are all Les Paul Standard into a Bassbreaker 15. The rhythm tracks used a Ryra the Klone and the leads used an Earthquaker Devices The Depths into a Keeley Super Phat Mod into a Klon KTR.
Chorus
That time we fell
when all was well
That time we fell
now time will tell
Verse 1 and 3
That was the place
where we first met
I saw your face
and that was it
Verse 2
forever more
walk through the door
what was it for
even the score
Break
Nothing that we can’t do
