Watch Me Ruin Everything
Robert James
When I was tracking the rhythm guitar I was feeling the groove on this in a major way. When I was tracking the vocals I thought it was better than my usual terrible. Somehow I was wrong on both fronts. The guitar sounds like mud and the vocals are downright awful. Crap. I kinda like the song, I just think I butchered it.
The found sound at the end is from here: https://freesound.org/people/themfish/sounds/33544/
It’s a walk through Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, one of my favorite places on Earth. It even had that ridiculous little chirping at the crosswalk. I miss visiting my city for no reason. Covid can kiss my very large ass.
The crappy rhythm guitar sound is my Gibson ES-335 into a Ryra The Klone into both a Vox AC15 and a Fender Bassbreaker 15. The somewhat better sounding lead guitar is the same except for a Wren and Cuff Super Russian after the Ryra.
Verse 1
Giving in to everything
Is the only skill I bring
No reason why, it’s just what I do
Won’t make up for anything
Verse 2
Step into the emptiness
Give in to forgetfulness
Could be the guilt finally got to me
Leave me with my loneliness.
Chorus
Front row seat to my decay
Watch me ruin everything
Bury me, throw me away
To the dust where I belong
Raise your glass to one my day
One more chance to watch me fail
Nothing else for me to say
This is it, watch me crumble
Verse 1
