Reichenbach Rekkerd 2

Another of Ronnie’s Mixed Bag samples (this one called 120_hollow_01) and another version of my Reichenbach ensemble for Reaktor.

The major difference here is the addition of playback modes and, in this case, the slicer mode. In this mode you decide how many slices you want the sample cut into (I chose 16) and a slice change probability (I picked 8%).

Reichenback uses a clock tuned to the length of a slice and on each clock tick it chooses, randomly, based on the probability you have chosen whether to start a new slice or loop around.

In slicer mode (as opposed to, say, leaper mode) slices go forward to the end of the sample, then back to the beginning, before going forward again. Essentially looping the loop!

Each time a new slice starts the 3 loopers come back into phase and then drift out and back in again (if they get the chance).

The results are, I think, quite interesting but already point to how the control scheme needs to be more sophisticated than simple probability.
