Sharon is Karen, born out of a sea of turbulence and plight, has established itself as one of Portland Oregon’s newest ensembles. After willfully undergoing experimental limb exchange surgery, the members of Sharon is Karen now possess the requisite tools for creating sonic unity. In the procedure of visceral enhancement Mark Macomber (maxophone) was endowed with Martin Walsh’s (kit) cochlea and Jacob Elias’s (guitar) fibula. Martin Walsh received a new spleen, peronius longus, Gastrocnemius, and extensor carpi ulnaris. The other members received treatment, but would like to keep their physiological improvements private, as not to divulge sensitive medical knowledge to the burgeoning flock of DIY surgeons inhabiting the hamlet of Portlandtown, for we all know what happens when knowledge falls into the wrong hands. Sharon is Karen is currently shackled in a basement in South East Portland by a board of surgeons while establishing the framework for their forthcoming EP, “Les is Mo.” A team of scientists, clerics, and politicians is on hand in an attempt to desegregate the realms of politics, religion, and science through musical and physical unity through the new and highly popular musical genre “Utah Jazz.”
