Face in the Window
Spice Rack Collective
I wrote and recorded the rhythm guitars and bass over some canned drums, with the initial intention of using the track on my solo EP. When it looked like that one was going to be more of a collection of electronic textures, I opted to record some real drums and then seek input from my Spice Rack Collective collaborators.
Hearing the full recording, with Hayden’s lead guitar and Kenny’s lyrics and vocals over my instrumental bed, was a personal highlight this time around. 😊
Kevin Craig – Songwriting, guitars, bass, drums, recording, mixing
Kenny Tannehill – Lyrics, vocals
Hayden Childs – Lead guitar, recording
Face in the Window
I can’t believe she’s standing there five feet away
Looking through my living room window, got nothing to say
Maybe she needs me, maybe she cares
Maybe she wants me, is that why she stares?
A lonely old man sitting here, don’t go out anymore.
Seen the years go by too fast, no one knocks on my door.
Maybe she sees me, maybe I’m scared.
Maybe she’ll smile at me, if she so dared.
All at once, she’s disappeared; I feel panic seep in.
Then at my bedroom window, I see her again.
Life is short, I understand; we must find our way
Don’t miss out or put love off for another day.
