Robbie’s lament for the Earth and the state we’re likely to leave it in.

(This one’s vibe reminded me of Lady in Black by Uriah Heep, which our band covered several years ago, so I tried to add drums and bass to maintain that vibe…)

Robbie Robinson - Songwriting, lyrics, guitar
Margaret Bibb - Flute
Kevin Craig - Drums, bass, recording, mixing

Good Stewards

It is all such a wonder, and we don’t understand,
Why we can’t possess and rule the air, the sea, the land.

Would it all come together, could it all ever be?
And if not does it mean we’re stopped, trapped in disharmony?

You can see how they run around from a long way away.
It is hard when among them you must live and you must stay.

As a boat floats in a stream, we are pulled in the flow,
But we steer and unfurl our sails, set a course to go.

It existed before us, and after us it will be,
But a fool could ignore this and make a tragedy.

Should it be such a wonder, when it always has been
Still the spell we come under, is a source we need to better understand.

We could be good stewards, so when we leave it remains,
But it don’t come easy, giving up those capital gains.

A universal wonder, no boundaries, some will try to control,
And keep it for themselves, naturally.

It existed before us, and though it can’t be the same,
We could be good stewards, so when we’re gone, it remains.
So let us be good stewards, so when we’re gone, it remains.
