Snow covers the ground Its cold
This dark it surrounds
Takes a hold
Smothers out the light of hope
As I try to sleep
but Its way too cold

My thoughts go back in time
By the fire singing Christmas rymes
Smiling children excited with hope
Then the darkness washes the dreams
cleans them as if with soap
Then I’m alone

The years have passed by like a dream
Suddenly 30 40 50 years have been
Its Christmas Eve and I’m looking back on life

Like it was a dream
I had a lovely wife she died
I have children spread around the world
Too busy
To busy with life
To say hi
How are you doing
Why don’t you come tous this Christmas
No way
But I’m here alone
