Trappings
Will Stelter
I’ve been trailing yarn for days,
Ahead of what may come, dismay.
Soot, and ash, and bone-
Gnarled and undone.
I’ve been railing stone for change,
Two cents - task on the brain.
Root, and clothes, and thrones-
Ravaged and unloved.
You’ve gotta kill your pride.
You’d better stay in line.
A circle is a circle, no matter which side,
When the blind lead the blind.
I have been rattling my cage,
Lesson never learned; s’too late.
Your eyes will never see, double again,
With two into eight.
I’ve been spinning thread for days,
In-spite of what has come, skin-flayed.
Your hands will never touch, a spinning wheel again,
With two, into eight.
You’ve gotta kill your pride.
You’d better stay in line.
A circle is a circle, no matter which side,
When the righteous, lead the fight.
Soot, and ash, and bone-
Gnarled and undone.
Root, and clothes, and thrones-
Ravaged and unloved.
You’ve gotta kill your pride.
A circle is a circle, no matter which side,
