Baby I Can Drive Your Car
Robert Palomo
I earn my daily bread with a company that makes software than can help auto makers, and other companies rushing headlong to make internet connected products to do a better job on the software engineering side.
There’s more software in the average car today than in most jet fighter aircraft. And when you add internet connectivity to a system like that, not fully understanding what you have to do to secure it, well, you’ve no doubt seen some of the resulting headlines.
Anyway, here’s a parody on the old Beat-alls classic!
There’s a little chip in your automobile
Connected to the net, oh yeah baby, it’s real
Car maker thought it was cool and new
They let me in to do just what I want to
Baby I can drive your car
From my room in Zanzibar
Baby I can drive your car
‘Cause Baby, I’ve hacked you!
Thru that little chip I can get to your brakes
A little easy hackin’ is all that it takes
Cruisin’ down the freeway as you talk to your fridge
I can make your power steering drive off a bridge
Baby I can drive your car
From my room in Zanzibar
Baby I can drive your car
‘Cause Baby, I’ve hacked you!
Beep-beep. Beep-beep yeah!
What I’m hackin’ now, well that’s just a start
Soon even your toilet is gonna be “smart”
And I’m gonna have a hackin’ field day
If they don’t secure stuff better than today
Baby I can drive your car
From my room in Zanzibar
Baby I can drive your car
‘Cause Baby, I’ve hacked you!
Beep-beep. Beep-beep yeah!
