Hailing from country South Australia, Jakam Kourasanis delivers a unique blues-based sound, the result of a lifetime playing music. “I’ve played metal and other genres before and the thing I keep coming to is blues and rock” After taking up guitar at age five inspired by Angus Young, he soon learned all the licks and then found other influences. “Ace Frehley, Chuck Berry, Slash, Bo Diddley, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Albert King shaped my playing. They aren’t the most technical players but they really know how to make a guitar sing”. Growing up in the Riverland in South Australia there was little else to do for Jakam besides study and learn music. His father tours with bands doing sound and lighting and ever since he can remember Jakam was attending all the shows he could, you could say music ran through his veins. After being a part of several bands from a young age, he began exploring writing his own music from his home studio. These songs have now formed the basis for his upcoming album and single release.
