Way You Walk
JakamKourasanis
Hailing from the Riverland in South Australia, blues rock musician, and singer-songwriter, Jakam Kourasanis, is a 20-year-old born and raised off old school music. Which is why it comes with no surprise that he should debut with the bluesy tones from yesteryear.
Solely written and performed by Jakam – he plays every instrument on the single which he also produced himself from his home studio amongst the grapevines.
“I should have been born in the ’50s, my musical influences stem from when blues and rock evolved, the likes of Ace Frehley, Chuck Berry, Slash, Bo Diddley, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Albert King really shaped have really helped me shape my music.”
“The majority of the song was written with my Mexican Tele, and I used my Gretsch Jet for rhythm. The lead runs during the verses were inspired by the signature sound of Chuck Berry, Angus Young, and Keith Richards… with a bit of Status Quo and Rose Tattoo in there too.”
“I’ve played metal and other genres before and the thing I keep coming back to is blues and rock”.
“I wrote “Way You Walk” in 2019 and yeah it’s about a girl [laughs], but no particular girl… I had been single for a while, and just felt I was always trying to punch above my weight… It’s not a love song, it’s a lust song.”
“Way You Walk” is a feel-good blues tune for any occasion.
