This one starts with a promise made long ago (reference Genesis 9:13). On the way home from work one rainy/sunny day years ago, I saw a very vibrant rainbow and upon seeing it the chorus just popped into my head. I kept humming it repeatedly so I wouldn’t lose it.
At the time we had a cheap old organ in the basement, so when I arrived home I turned it on and played what was in my head. I developed the rest of the basic structure of the tune as time went on. My bandmate at the time, Tammy Borden, came up with the melodies and lyrics for the verses and bridge. We introduced it to our worship team and it became a regular tune in our rotation. (You can hear the original version done live as a bonus track to this album.)
