"High Density" was a last minute addition to this album. Just messing around in my studio during the RPM Challenge and somehow this came out. My good friend and shredder, Stinky Pat, contributed the guitar leads and Cyclops Cow returns on vibraslap…

I believe I came up with the initial riff for this one in 2017 and it slowly developed over a year and a half. Since it was already almost completely written, it was included in the 2019 RPM project. The intro was recorded in Mount Horeb, WI at…

When I started recording for the 2019 RPM Challenge, I wasn't in a good place. I really envisioned the completed album to be mostly dark and a bit brooding with maybe a hopeful ending. I'm thankful it didn't go that way. This opening track was…

The story behind this one is almost the same as "Swamp Thing," only this one spawned lyrics to boot. Major props to Erika for her fabulous vocal! Jon and I played the leads. I bookended the track and Jon did everything in between.

I originally recorded this track to test out settings on my EHX Grand Canyon delay/echo/looper in 2020. In late 2021, I had Jasper Guitar Company, LLC do a custom build for me that was a combination of their Olam and Deja VuDoo models. I call…

Project X is simply about making music for the pleasure of making music. It’s about playing and experimenting, working the writing and recording processes and seeing what happens as a result.

Project X’s first release, “The Dark Side of the Moo,” was completed as part of the 2019 RPM Challenge and released in early March of that year. It’s an eclectic instrumental mix of rock n’ roll sub-genres like progressive, surf, British Invasion, 1960s soul, alternative, and power pop.

The album, “Are You Sure You’re Not Where You Are?” was born on February 28, 2020, and it too was produced for the 2020 RPM Challenge. “Are You Sure…” is another kaleidoscope of rock n’ roll styles, this time featuring blues, latino, punk, ballad, and even a bit of exotica alongside surf, progressive, and pop. Regardless of the diverse styles, “Are You Sure…” is a cohesive album and shows marked growth.

After surviving the dumpster fire that was 2020, Project X retooled and delivered a pair of surf tracks for the 2021 RPM Challenge: “Tubed” and “Ocean Deep.” These are Project X’s first original tracks to feature a real live flesh-and-blood drummer which brings a freshness to the artist’s sound.
