My sister Mary calls on me
Very rare she comes around
She tells me she is in love with this guy
Who lives on the other side of town
Wide eyed, loud and gushing
She tells me his name is Danny McCrew
Over coffee at my kitchen table
I tell her “Mary, he’s not right for you”

I know this feller I know him well
A liar, a thief and a cheat
Nothing but mayhem and double trouble
From his head down to his feet
She gets upset and cusses me out
She says “I know he’s a little wild.”
I love the man so very much,
And I’m carrying his child”

“I’m carrying his child right now”
She screams with a damp eye
“Ah, dear Mary here’s a shock
You’re carrying his child - so am I”
