On Controversial Art (Life Lessons 3)

So there’s this phenomenon about controversial works of art
That there’s the establishment that wants to suppress and take down and attack controversial works of art
And this arises because there’s a viewership or a viewer-base, listeners, watchers, whatever that don’t know how to receive the art
And so they may get depressed or they might get angry at something that’s controversial
They watch it and they get in a bad mood and they’re ticked off
So what happens is the establishment then goes after the art, the song, the movie, the picture, whatever it is
And then they take that down, they suppress it, they eliminate it
But that’s the wrong thing to do
The problem is not the art or the artist or the platform it’s on
The problem is that you have this viewer-base, these people, these listeners, these watchers that don’t know how to receive the art
It’s not the artist’s fault
It’s not the song or the movie
The problem is that you have a group of people that receive the art poorly
They don’t know how to take it
They don’t know how to listen to it and think about it and digest it correctly
They don’t think about ‘how is this going to affect me?’
‘How do I want this to affect me the right way?’
‘Am I going to let it affect me negatively or positively?’
So it’s up to the listener, the viewer to decide for themselves
It’s not the responsibility of the artist to live the life of their viewer or to take care or to raise their viewer
It’s up to the viewer, it’s their responsibility
So the problem’s not the song or the movie or whatever it is
They shouldn’t be taken down
These songs and movies and such shouldn’t be banned
They should be left up
It’s art
Art should not be suppressed
Rather, we need to foster in the public people who receive art correctly, intelligent, strong, smart people who know how to look and receive and view art and appreciate it correctly and not blame and insult and attack it
We need an establishment that’s intelligent enough to support art, even if it’s deemed so-called controversial, quote controversial or dirty or explicit, whatever you wanna call it
We need a more intelligent system that supports art, even if it’s naughty or nasty, these labels we put on them that are totally ridiculous and absurd and not even worth discussing because they’re so wrong
But the art is good
Leave the art up, that’s the point

Saved!
