04 Wrong Turn Preacher

“This one came from a conversation I overheard on the 15 Third bus on the way to work one morning. A guy was talking about how he DUI’d in his brand new Mustang and how everything went down hill from there. Later that week, I saw him preaching downtown on the corner opposite the Chevron headquarters. He was a very spirited preacher. This son was heavily influenced by the ‘Old Lady and the Devil’ by Bill and Belle Reed from the Anthology of American Folk Music, which I was listening to incessantly at the time. I have never played this one live, but I think it is just about time to dust it off.”
