In the darkness
I walk alone
Eternal solitude
My only home
And the path I follow
Towards the unknown
Is a path that’s laid
For my steps alone
In the morning
you won’t find me here
Come the dark of night
And I’ll be gone my dear
Never to return
At least not in this life
Another bridge will burn
with the coming of the light
And in the end
Once I’ve walked my final mile
My only friend
Waitin’ on the other side
Knowin’ I’ll be there soon
I’ll draw my final breath
A sliver of a waning moon
I’ll embrace my blessed death
