My Old Bones Know Better
Colleen Dillon
Well the song tells the story of the morning…. a lovely bleak, cold day. I decided on a simple a cappella arrangement to fit the feeling of the day.
Happy Winter Solstice everyone! To brighter days ahead!!!!
My Old Bones Know Better
The sun came up
I still can’t tell
If its light
Is gone forever
I guess I’ll have
To live my life
In this heavy wool sweater
Chorus
My socks are thin
And my floors are cold
These short days of winter
Make me feel old
I should do
All these things
But my old bones know better
Today’s the day
Should scrub the floor
Mend that shirt
A simple chore
But there’s no task
Can make me move
while these winds blow so cruel
It’s nearly noon
Still barely light
And the grey sky
Won’t leave us
My list stays long
Give up the fight
Need some fire
To warm these feet up

Nicely done !! A Capella fits the bill. :)
