The Sun
Colleen Dillon
Here’s my submission for the songwriting challenge for MN Homebrew for April - playing off of theme of the Beatles hit song “Here Comes The Sun”. It’s also an ode to spring here in the northland of MN!!! We were in shorts this weekend. Hooray!!! I hope this little song makes you smile.
THE SUN
VERSE 1
Who can soften the ice on your car?
And melt the frost so deep in the ground
If your roof starts dripping
And the road salt is gone
It’s the sun, the sun, the sun
VERSE 2
Who can drive the winter away?
And bring the birds back to sing their songs
When we feel it
We know that spring can’t be long
It’s the sun, the sun, the sun
CHORUS
If your days have been way too cloudy
And your heart feels a little blue
Point your face to that break
Up in the clouds
The sun will take care of you
VERSE 3
Who can coax the leaves from the trees?
And the worms up from the ground
When we see it
We might just drop to our knees
It’s the sun, the sun, the sun
CHORUS
When your days have been way too cloudy
And your heart feels a little blue
Point your face to that break
Up in the clouds
The sun will take care of you
