This song has a host of contributors, including myself. When the lead singer heard the pattern I was playing on keys, she started singing, “Do Do Doot…” and shortly we began working on the lyrics. I said, “What if we didn’t write words to the chorus, just have you sing the scat you were singing” and the hook was born.
