Nothing on My Mind

I watch the sun rise once a month
Wipe the creases off my palms
Tracing in a few new ones
Feeding the mourning doves
The time we’re given’s not enough
Would one more day be too much
Rinse my palette on the front lawn
Mixing the petals I found
I don’t take enough walks outside
With nothing on my mind
Nothing on my mind
I clean my room as much as I can
One way ticket in my hand
Back in the drawer with the other plans
Wallet in last night’s pants
I hoped to god I wouldn’t cry
When my mom asked I’m alright
They say it’s gonna storm again tonight
I’m more prepared this time
