I look away, I cannot see the vase behind me
I turn and see, the flower very nearly dying

I try to fill the vessel up with the water from my cup, no timing

I try again, but another bloom is fading
I walk away, and to myself berating

I wonder will it ever bloom I wonder if the soil soon is wasting

GLAA DEEE OOO LUS

The bloom is red, the beauty is of long duration
If nothing else, I have the benefit of patience

I bend to take another look, press it in another book’s notation

Perennial, it will always be there waiting
I come and go, my presence always alternating

Soil clean and nourishing the leaves are green forever fascinating
