This is a lament I wrote after a relative of a friend was killed in Afghanistan. The person concerned was not with the military but was working for a charity.

It is in three part harmony using a wooden flute, tenor and bass recorders. The tune is played twice once with all three instruments in unison then with the harmonies added with the flute staying on the melody.
