I found this song on YouTube and fell in love with it. It was covered by several Rockabilly artists such as Carl Perkins and Jerry Reed, so I assumed it was a 50s number, however I eventually traced it to William Lee (Plano Red) Perryman from 1929. Apparently, the song has been recorded and performed by artists in every decade since, over 90-years and counting.
