CLINGING TO A MEMORY - THE BOOK
James Michael Taylor
key - C
I’m clinging to the memories as the world falls apart
The falling leaves, dead Everleys are pulling at my heart.
My quest for rationality, I can’t even start.
So, I’m clinging to the memories as the world falls apart
I’m clinging to the memories as our world falls apart
What now are hues of gray and blue were once a flower cart.
What once were anniversaries, a calendar gone dark.
And I’m clinging to the memories as our world falls apart.
I lock the door. I pull down the shade
All the pictures just stare at each other in dismay
I turn out the light. I sit here in the dark
Alone, with my thots and your face in my mind
The silence is stark
I’m clinging to my memories as my world falls apart
I close my eyes and visualize our first walk in the park.
The love we shared can’t be compared. It was a sacred art
and I’m clinging to my memories as my world falls apart
