FEATHERS IN THE WIND 1974 - FEATHERS IN THE WIND

This is the title song from my first LP.
FEATHERS IN THE WIND by SNOWGEESE.
Snowgeese was my first wife, BarbaraAnne and me. Michael was a new friend we met when we moved to Texas that liked my songs enough to produce and arrange and record them for us. His name was Michael Jeffrey.
It was recorded by Michael in his living room on a 1/4 inch 4 track machine.

Carolyn is gone now and Keren and I don’t see each other much any more. The events in this song took place in the 60s but still reverberate in my life.

FEATHERS IN THE WIND

Who would think a boy of seventeen could meet a girl
Learn enough from her to change his vision of the world
Learn from her at Childhood’s End, the meaning of a friend
and live to look back on it all as Feathers in the Wind.
Feathers in the Wind. Woh, woh, woh…

Today I blame myself for what I didn’t say
And ignorance is no excuse. I look at it that way
Harboring a rumor is my part of the sin
Try to change it now’s like chasing Feathers in the Wind
FEATHERS IN THE WING OH OH OH (x4)

Her years went by and so did I, as did a husband or two
And with my pride laid aside I’ll tell it now to you
I believed the whole damn story, I believed it to the end
Her words, they linger in my ears like Feathers in the Wind

She said, “What night? What fireplace?” She said, “ What friend?”
I said, “Keren told me, Carolyn. It’s foolish to pretend.”
She said, “That never happened. I’ve done nothing to defend.”
That is when I knew I’d scattered Feathers in the Wind.
Oh. Feathers in the wind (x4)

We all know when we accuse someone we ought to do it to their face.
It’s wrong to go assuming guilt when there’s just no evidence to trace
And it’s best that you be careful, what you believe about a friend
Unless you think it’s easy. catching Feathers in the wind.
Oh, Feathers in the wind, woh, woh, woe…

Sherra Leh Interestingly, I think if you were to re-release that album, it would do really well.

Jim Farmer JMT...Also wanna say that I love the sound produced on those 1/4" - 4 track machines. I listened to half the tunes on "Feathers in the Wind" & really enjoyed them. I'll tell you again that I'm a big fan of your writing and your voice. Truly great stuff, my friend.
